Have you ever wanted to try yoga, but didn't want to go
to a regular class because of
Your size? Your age? A disability?
Well, you don't have to be thin, young, or flexible to enjoy the benefits of yoga!
Over 25 years of yoga teaching experience has given Meera Patricia Kerr a unique approach to teaching students with a variety of health challenges. Her groundbreaking video, Big Yoga Hatha 1, is helping plus size yoga students enjoy this life- affirming practice through the use of adapted poses designed for the larger body.

Meera's yoga students are finding they can lower their blood pressure, improve glycemic function, feel more energized and happy with the simple and effective yoga postures (asana) and gentle deep breathing (pranayama).
Meera began experimenting with a Big Yoga class while teaching yoga for the Parks and Recreation Department in the city of Santa Monica. The result of those classes was her first video, now on DVD. The companion book, Big Yoga: A Simple Guide for Bigger Bodies, is due for publication in June of 2009 from Square One Publishers. Meera currently teaches yoga in southwest Michigan where lives along the lakeshore of Lake Michigan. She is currently working on some new recordings, and a new DVD, to be titled: Big Yoga Flex-Ability. She is available for workshops and retreats and is passionate about bringing the ancient teachings of yoga to folks who might want to try yoga, but are intimidated to try yoga because of their size, age, or lack of flexability. You don’t have to be thin to enjoy the benefits of yoga! |
